The biggest surprise from the reading was the
managerial rationalization. The justifications in defense of unethical acts
were surprising to me because there is a thin line between ethical and legal and
unethical and illegal. The stakeholder analysis was one part of the reading
that was confusing to me. If I were to ask the author two questions I would ask
him, how does a business avoid losing some of its best and brightest people
from becoming independent entrepreneurs? How does a business deal with internal
and external ethical conflict? I would ask these questions because there is a
lot of things businesses have to deal with to be a competitor force in the
marketplace. I did not find anything wrong with what the author said nor I
disagree with anything that was in the text.
