One of the biggest surprises from reading this chapter is when it
stated that entrepreneur’s might not use strategic planning. All though, a lot
of reasons come behind this such as scarcity of time, lack of knowledge
about how to plan, lack of expertise in the planning process, and many others
strategic planning has many benefits when used. The section that was confusing
to me was the sections on balance of entrepreneurial and managing approach.
This section was later broken up into the five major factors. If I could ask
the author two questions my first question would be, can an entrepreneur also
be the leader of their firm? When does an entrepreneur’s firm start to see
profit? I would ask these questions because I know there is a fine line between
being an entrepreneur and having leadership skills. There was not any section I
disagreed with the author.
